The Syracuse Cooperative Market is small, but mighty. Our locally grown, full-line natural foods market boasts a destination organic produce department, large organic bulk foods section, and vegetarian deli. We find that many of our regular customers travel 50 miles or more to visit our bustling store.
Conveniently located off Westcott Street, in the outer neighborhood of Syracuse University and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, the co-op is a beehive of activity. Although cooperatively owned by 2,200+ member owners, you need not be a member to shop at the co-op. However, once you visit our vibrant, yet cozy store, chances are you'll want to become a member owner, too.
Amidst the array of colorful delights you will find local dairy products and eggs, meats that were raised organically on local family farms, wild-caught seafood, fresh-baked breads, wellness and natural body care products, and much more.
Distinguishing itself from other markets with its exceptional customer service, the co-op has been a source of sustenance and refuge to generations of Syracuse residents and visitors. Nestled in the historic University neighborhood, the co-op has been in continuous operation since 1972. Thirty years later, the co-op is a valued and active part of the Syracuse community, as well as one of the best food stores in town.
Co-op customers are as diverse as the beans in our bulk aisle, but they all have one thing in common: a love of good, real food. Returning time and again-maybe because of an interest in wellness, organics, food safety, regional food, gourmet cuisine, or cooperative economics-customers are made to feel welcome by our friendly, knowledgeable staff.
