Greene Hill Food Coop is a community-owned grocery store with a worker-member model. Greene Hill's operations rely on member labor to keep their expenses low, prices affordable and decisions democratic. Greene Hill began in 2010 with a group of neighbors organizing together to provide a grocery store in their neighborhood. What started as a buying club has flourished into a fully operational grocery store serving the Clinton Hill, Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights and beyond neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York. Membership is open to all.
Greene Hill specializes in offering organic, locally sourced groceries that are reflective of the taste and needs of their neighborhood. Their sourcing prioritizes supporting ethical practices that values the environment and all workers and consumers in the food system.
