Food Shed Co-op is a community-owned grocery store in Woodstock, IL, that offers shoppers healthy food choices and the benefits of cooperation to grow a vibrant local community and eco-friendly world. Established in 2014, Food Shed Co-op opened its doors to the public in 2024. The co-op collaborates with local farmers and suppliers to provide sustainable products, services and education.
Food Shed Co-op offers more LOCAL, more ORGANIC and more HEALTHY NATURAL FOODS! The store’s aim is to:

- Champion environmentally responsible practices
Products at the co-op are fairly priced and its vendors and staff are fairly paid. It is owned and democratically controlled by its owners (members), but the store is open to all. Everyone is welcome to shop at the co-op.
Food Shed Co-op has a full breadth of grocery store departments. It prioritizes products that are:
- Locally grown or produced within 150 miles of the Food Shed Co-op store
- Grown following sustainable, organic practices
- Clean: GMO-free, free from artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, fragrances, antibiotics, growth hormones, herbicides or pesticides
- Grown or produced in a socially responsible manner
Food Shed Co-op offers grab-and-go deli items and juice bar selections, local produce, frozen foods, dairy products and frozen meats, cheese, bakery items, bulk foods (including herbs, spices and teas), local wine and beer, wellness items, general merchandise, as well as a wide selection of vegan, gluten-free, and kosher products.
